Emmy AwardThe Emmy Award is given to individuals and production companies that acheive excellence in television. They are to television what the Academy Awards are to the movies.

The Emmy Award was first presented in 1949. By the 1970′s televison had grown so competitive that the Emmy’s were split into the Daytime and the Primetime versions of the award.

it is clear that the television industry seeks to encourage success by recognizing it in grand style.

The Golden Globes

The Golden Globe Award is an accolade presented to movie and television personnel for achievement in film.  The awards program is produced by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association.

The Golden Globe AwardAn Awards company called Encore located in the Los Angeles area produces the statue using a combination of metals, which guarantees a long and sturdy life. The globe is made from one mold through a hot metal casting process. Then it’s plated with 24-carat gold. If there’s a plating problem, Encore can simply replate the statue. The award stands about 10 inches high, with the actual globe measuring 4 inches and the base taking up more of the space at 6 inches high.
